Valencia is both a city and region in eastern Spain. It encompasses the stretches of coasts known as the Costa Blanca and Costa del Azahar. Here, you’ll find some of Spain’s most popular beaches. They include those around Benidorm, Calpe, Javea, Benicassim and Peñiscola.
Alicante and Valencia (the city) are the region’s biggest cities and the main gateways to nearby beaches along the coast. Both are also vibrant, enjoyable places for a city break too.
Getting there and around
From Madrid Atocha, you can reach the region easily with direct train services to Valencia and Alicante. Both connect to Madrid via the high-speed AVE service so the journey can be super quick too. And whilst public transport connects both cities to major beach resorts in the area, having a car can be the most convenient way to get around.
On this page, you’ll find all our posts relating to the Valencian region.
Enjoy your time at Madrid-Atocha.
